Good morning! It's been so long since I've been on here. June was ridiculously busy. As expected though. I was hoping to be updating regularly, but I just couldn't swing it. So today, you get a full recap up to yesterday.
Our goods are in the new house, some unpacked and lots still to go. I think I'm going to empty all the boxes and get them out of the house, and then figure out where everything will go from seeing it all out. I really don't have a system this go around. It's just a mess. For now.
We used Bekins this go around to handle our stuff. The tractor trailer that was supposed to pick up our stuff ended up breaking down so they brought two trucks. Which I wasn't too happy about because that means more chances of things to break. Moving onto these trucks. Off these trucks. Onto a new tractor trailer, then off into our house. So far, non of the boxed items have been broken. Just a few pieces of furniture. And fans. Why, every single time we move, do our stand fans always break?! These companies need a new method of packing them!
Two of the men were carrying the heaviest things by themselves like they were feathers. Like this treadclimber. This sucker is heavy!

I always love finding the treasures under the beds. I can't be the only one that doesn't take mattresses off to check under beds, ha!
This box was doomed. By my fault. I wrote what was on it, thinking if I'm honest that it's in the box (the Xbox), then it will be on the inventory and accounted for. Wrong-o! These jokers kept setting this box aside. The first time it was in the garage with no other boxes around. Then it was moved on the side of the truck by the front doors. I was texting Nick because he was in class, telling him that I was going to take it off the inventory and take the box myself. When I told the lead guy I wanted it off the inventory, he says they were saving the box to be a top load. Yeah, whatever. I took the box and put it with my stuff.
The kids went to stay with my mom for 8 days. They have been home for just over a week now. It's good to have them back, but I sure do miss the peace and quiet 😉. Thanks mom for taking them! We really appreciated the help.
They were home just in time for the movers to unload in the new house.
They climbed the tree
And played in the corner out of the way
I sold their bikes before leaving VA and told them we would buy them big kid bikes after we get moved. The day finally came and we headed to Wal-mart. They have a good selection of bikes! They now have 20 inch bikes.
Sterling caught on pretty quick when I'd give her a push off. Xander, on the other hand, it took an hour break away from the bike before he finally caught on. They love their bikes!
After the rain one day, they ran through the puddles. Always a favorite time of theirs!
We took our last trip to NOVA last week. It was a quick, two day turnaround. But, I was glad and ready to be back at the new house to start really getting settled. After arriving early Friday afternoon, we headed to the pool. The kids needed to burn off some pent up energy. If only you could imagine how boring those two days of cleaning were for them...
Don't go on this floor. Only this floor. Only this bathroom. Don't touch this. Don't go on any carpet. It was pure torture. But they survived and loved their swimming reward in the end.
In the end, we received word from the previous landlords and their inspector was impressed with the condition of the house and we'll be getting our full deposit back.
They did do a good job entertaining themselves in the one room that wasn't off limits.

On our way back to the new house
After getting home, we had some cute cards on the front porch from some of the neighbor kids. There were three cards.
On Saturday, I had plans to finish unpacking the kitchen, but then needed a break and hit the gym. The kids have been begging to go to kids club, so that's just what they did!
When we got back, I was sidetracked by the garage mess. I put up this shelf and then unloaded all but one box (the trampoline stuff). It's close to being done. This shelf is completely full too.

These two. They have a love-hate relationship. They can play so nice and then something sparks and then they're hollering at each other. The blame game is strong. We're going to implement a 1.5 hour alone break every day starting today. Wish me luck!
I finished the kitchen yesterday! I had a hard time putting stuff away because I know I'm not going to remember where I put stuff (1), and (2) I was hoping to eliminate having to rearrange cabinets next month. Let's hope I did this right!

This move has been hard on me. I have been swelling in my feet so much the first week. I've been drinking a lot of water and resting every hour for at least 20 minutes the last week. And I haven't had so much swelling, but I've had sore feet and shin splint in my right leg. I'm a mess y'all! Since the middle of May, it's been go, go, go. On my feet a lot. And now I'm paying the painful price.
Have a wonderful day!
