Fun with cousins

Back at the end of June, the kids and I headed up to ND to visit my sister and her family.  It's always so much fun when we go, but I always dread the drive.  It's 9-9.5 LONG hours!  And I hate to drive.  Hate it!

These two were excited and were awesome passengers!

My sister hired her babysitter to come watch the 6 kids so we could go out.  We got pedicures, enjoyed my favorite lunch at Schlotzsky's, then headed over to the coffee shop to talk about our new blog we're teaming up for.  We're excited to get that started!  More on that later :)

Later that night, we headed to my nephews ice practice.

and had a late night and chilled in the garage, making funny faces.

Sterling pushing her cousin

This girl learned how to pump herself.  Now we just need Bubba to get on board!

I love this little girl!  She's a firecracker!

We went fishing and the kids caught their first fish.

Another late night.  Let's be honest, they were all late nights!  Don't hate me guys, but I loved playing games and drinking with you after all the kids crashed (minus 2 that pulled all nighters).  Fun memories!

The oldest cousin was really naughty while we were there, but these 4 played really nice when the oldest wasn't around.

We went to art in the park and the kids got a few things.  One was these yo-yo balloons.  Sterling had hers up until Friday.  Xander was playing with it in the playroom and came running out crying "hurry, hurry, it's around my neck!"  Sure enough, somehow he got it tightly wrapped around his neck.  His neck hurt for a while.  Scary moment for sure!

There was a huge storm one night and their street was flooded a bit so after the rain and lightening stopped, they headed out to play.

The boys had to go potty.  It's nice being a boy.

Happy 4th!  We started our day with the parade.  It was hot!

Being silly

Later that night we headed to my sister's in-laws.  The kids rode the dirt bike and had a good time

We had lots of fireworks to light off and they had some pretty good ones.

All but the big one fell asleep on the 20 minute ride home

We had been having problems all summer with shoes for Sterling, so while we were in ND, we headed to Scheels to have her feet measured again.  Sure enough, she measured at 13.5!  I'd had her in 12s!  No wonder she kept getting blisters.  Since getting the right size shoes, we haven't had any problems!  This girl jumped 2 shoe sizes!  Now, we're buying size 1s and they're perfect!

Playing at the park is always more fun with cousins!

Helping their uncle do some work

And then we headed home and we'll just say that it wasn't as enjoyable as the ride there.  But they were excited to get home to see daddy!

July was fun.  July was busy.  July was memorable.  More to come!
