Lately

For just over a month now, our family has been trying to make new lifestyle changes.  It's been hard, honestly.  But, it's also been a huge eye opener.  We attended a nutrition class where I learned that just because it's "organic" doesn't make it okay for you.  I thought it was okay for Sterling to drink her favorite Horizon Organic Chocolate Milk.  Because it's "organic".  But it's not.  What about the "organic" pasta, cookies or juice that Xander and I love?  Not so good either.  Just because it's organic, doesn't make it good for you.  Organic is such an overused word.  In my opinion it's just an overpriced hype.

We were also told not to buy the "low-fat, or sugar-free" of anything because when buying those items, you typically eat/use more because you are missing the taste of the original.  It's so true too.  When I have bought the low-fat version of things in the past, I'd use more to get the flavors I was looking for.  So in the end, I'd take in more calories.  So we stick with original flavors and watch the quantity.

I've also tried a green smoothie.  Meaning no fruit.  It was disgusting, ha!  I'll try one again, but I prefer fruit smoothies with spinach/kale and flax seeds/chia seeds.

Sterling had her "blood vessel taken" again so her arm was not working.  She's a bit dramatic, but her awesome brother helped her latch her buckle.

The Grinch is such a good movie.  I laughed so hard multiple times.  So good.

Waiting on their chicken strips.

Let's talk about Xander's hair.  It's long.  I want to buzz it all off, but we made a deal with Nick that we won't cut anybodies hair.  Sterling and I can do trims, but Xander can just get a shape up done.  We have to completely wet his head down each day, put in moisturizer, and then his curls are adorable.  I'm getting used to them now and starting to like them.

Oh, gymnastics.  This sport has been a blessing.  The kids are both now on intermediates, but they are loving it!  Sterling was so excited to go on the big beam, but when it came time, she froze and was terrified to get up by herself.  But, the coach also didn't show them how to get up there.

She did it with the help of her coach, and she was so proud.

So happy!

She's pretty good at cartwheels too.

Lulu loves a good walk.  She's a monster, crazy wild thing.  We always regret taking her with us, but we also know it's good for her.  So we do.  She's just crazy!  Xander's been riding his scooter on our walks.  It's nice seeing the kids getting more comfortable doing things more and more.

That's a little snippet of our life lately.
