On Friday I found this handsome guy in his school mailbox. My heart immediately went in a puddle. My first born is ready for Kindergarten. I'm ready for him too. Just seeing him in a cap and gown it suddenly got real. He's all grown up. Well, in a way.
(A picture of a picture is never any good, but you get the idea!)
Nick worked all weekend again Thursday, Friday and Saturday 6p-6a. Friday afternoon I decided to move the lawn last minute because it needed it. Duh. It was supposed to be 10 degrees warmer on Saturday, when I planned to do it, so Friday afternoon I got it done.
We stayed inside all day Saturday because the kids didn't want to take showers again. We make them take showers if they've played outside (which is nearly every day). We can't stand the smell of the outdoors on ourselves or the kiddos. So, we stayed inside to stay clean. ha! I got busy in the basement and created a tornado out of our storage room. I'm trying to go through it all and sort it into piles. Sell. Donate. Trash. I also noticed something. We collect empty boxes. Not even joking. With moving though, I'm not sure I want to toss them. Decisions, decisions. I spent probably 4 hours down there before coming up to make lunch. After lunch, Sterling wanted cake, so we made a bundt cake. It's so good!
Then right before dinner, these hooligans decided to turn themselves into clowns.
*just clowning around*
Yesterday in an effort to keep the noise level down in the house, I decided to pull out the canvases and let the kids paint. Good idea, but oh so stressful.
Sterling actually painted in a sketch that I sketched on these canvases when she was an itty bitty baby. She did a great job!
Xander decided to draw a circus. He drew a tiger, an elephant standing on grass with water, and a monkey family climbing the tree and throwing bananas down to his parents. And then the famous tent. His imagination is so detailed.
We're going to hang these paintings in their new rooms when we move.
A favorite moment of the weekend. For sure. Being able to go inside the studio and watch this girl dance. She loves it! And I love watching her beam from ear to ear. So much pride goes into her dancing.
6 days of school and 12 days of work left. I've got this!
Have a great day!
