For the books...It seems like ever since we moved here, the kids and I have been sick every month for at least 2 of the 4 weeks. These past 2 weeks have been the worst I think. Sterling started it a few days before Easter, high fever (103.2), no other symptoms for 2 days and missed 2 days of school. Xander then got the high fever a week later (102.8), but his lasted much longer than hers, 5 days and missed 2 days of school. He only had a high fever for 3 days and on the 3rd day he also got diarrhea, but no other symptoms. Unless you count extra snuggles and mommy time? He soaked it up! I started feeling yuck on Friday morning. Friday night I had a 102 fever, went to bed early and broke my fever in the middle of the night. Woke up drenched like I just came out of the shower. Gross! I've had a sore throat, extreme headache, ear ache, my nose has ran all the way to Paris and is now raw. Between the three of us, we have went through 2 boxes of tissues in 2 days! Ridiculous!
I blame the kids school. Okay, not physically the school, but all the nasty germ filled kids that attend it. It's probably because the kids were not around all the germs while we lived in Germany. They stayed home with me and we rarely got sick. I felt lucky. Here, I feel miserable. Every month. I know being around the germs is building their immune systems and hopefully they won't be sick as often when they start Kindergarten, in 2 and 3 years! The kids love school so pulling them out is not an option. So for now I put up with it...and complain about it, ha!
Hopefully this summer we won't be sick as often and we can enjoy our sunny weather.
