Not so fun now

Well, yesterday did not go as planned.  We were hoping to wake up and Sterling's foot would be better.  The shock of the fall would wear off and she would be able to walk.  We hoped.  But, not so much.

We elevated, iced, and wrapped it on and off all day.  But, I noticed her foot was starting to swell, so after the A/C man left, we headed up to urgent care.  Against her will.

She was so nervous because (1), she didn't want to be there and (2), she didn't want to get crutches.
After talking with the doctor, they did an x-ray and ruled the pain was from a chip fracture in her heel.
I think she knew it was worse than she was telling me because crutches never crossed my mind.n

Still nervous because she was told she was getting crutches.

She looks happy, right?

Not so much.  She cried the whole way home from the doctor.  She says we should've left the crutches there because she's just going to sit in bed for 3 weeks.
I don't think so, ha!  She's so sad and mad at me that she has crutches.  Because I took her to the doctor and she didn't want to go.  #mamaknowsbest
I told her she really doesn't need to use them, she can crawl around like she's been or I can still carry her.  Just if we go to a store, she'd have to bring them since I won't be able to carry her in the store.

Unfortunately her doctor visits are not over just yet.  We are waiting for the Orthopedic doctor to call so we can get an official "what's wrong" answer.  I'm hoping it's not really a fracture, because it will make for one long summer.  I'll have to come up with a list of new fun activities that includes hoping around.  And, we'll have to reschedule our beach trip.  Which will be fine and still just as much fun later.

Do you have any tips on taking showers with a cast?  What about fun activities?

Scooter fun {or not}

Last night we went back around the lake.  The kids loved it so much they were excited all day to get back out there.  Even more than being at the pool.  I have to admit, the pool was freezing yesterday.  Freezing!  Raynauds came out in full force, even with 92 degree weather.  Oh well.  I still acted like I had fun to get the crazy kids in the pool.

After dinner, we headed to the lake.  They rode their scooters again, but it'll be the last time.  I guess we're not supposed to have scooters on the trail 😭

Since we couldn't go around the lake more (because of the scooters), we went to the open parking lot.  It has a slight hill so it was extra fun.

Until Sterling fell off and went flying.  She gets really nervous whenever someone gets close to her (moving).  She saw Bubba turn around and get behind her and as she was zooming around the corner, she turned around the see where he was and off she went 😬
She only cut up her elbow and her foot is hurting.  I'm hoping it's not sprained because I just booked our beach vacation and a sprained foot won't be as much fun on the beach.
So, she's resting and loving life.  In my bed of course.

Thanks for stopping by!

Weekend Shenanigans

We started our weekend getting out of the house Friday morning to check out the Rainbow play systems.  The kids played on the different playground setups while I shopped the catalog.  I'm so excited to get this sucker!  We won't get it until Fall, but it will be the perfect timing.  I have to get our HOA's approval before buying.  I'm submitting the paperwork today.  I don't see a problem since other's have them, but I just have to go through the process and wait.  Such is life.

After playing, we had a date to watch Incredibles 2.

We watched the first one Thursday night in preparation for the second one.  Such good movies!  Xander was hilarious.  Every time I laughed out loud, he was loud and saying "what's so funny."  His funny bone is a bit broken, ha!  I had to tell him the relation to what was said that made it funny, then he finally would get it.

Nick surprised us super early on Friday.  We were home less than an hour and the doorbell rang.  He's lucky we answered.  We don't normally answer our doorbell unless we're expecting someone.  But, he does have a key.  Then the alarm would tell me someone entered the front door, and it could have been ugly after that.  He won't be doing that again.  Ha!

He brought home a new monopoly game.  It was a hit!  We love it and have played it all weekend.

Nick left early Sunday morning to miss the DC traffic.  I worked on homeschooling stuff and then the kids and I headed to grab a few things at the store.

After dinner, we headed out for our nightly walk.  This time we walked up to the clubhouse and walked around the lake.

They rode their scooters and dodged duck poop ☺️

I hope you had a great weekend and are looking forward to this week.
