Unpacking

I have so much to blog about so I'm going to break up the posts.

I'll first update about all our stuff and the mess/cleanup we created.  It was a process, but teamwork pulled us through and we finished unpacking 95% of all our belongings 3 days after getting it!  Simply amazing!  The house may have been a hazard in the process, but we securely put the kids in the safe zone, Sterling's room, with the occasional run around to release built up energy.  I should have taken pictures before we started, but I didn't think of it.  So, these are from a full day (Saturday)after working through the boxes and the after is the next day.

The day after all our stuff was unloaded and stuffed into our house, I took the kids to the park.  I felt bad that they didn't have much fun while the movers were around.  We had a fun morning playing at this new park we found.  I loved it because the ground was not sand and it had the splash pad attached too.  It reminded me of being back in Germany and the ground was the soft foamy stuff.  It was so nice to leave a park and not have my car filled with sand!  We will definitely see many many more visits to this park.

Sterling found Xander's hard hat and has been obsessed with it since

Laundry.  The daunting laundry.  I have this crazy side to me that thinks that because all our stuff was packed in boxes for 3 months, it's nasty and everything needs washed.  There ended up being a lot more to this pile up, and I actually completely finished, folded, and put away everything today!  Yah me!

We spent ALL day Saturday unpacking.

Sunday:

Xander was transferred to his big boy bed.  Because his transition happened in Germany by sleeping on the airbed, he transitioned really nicely.  I think we're going to try it with Sterling next summer, but we'll just put her mattress on the floor.

Oh Sterling.  This girl is obsessed with her blankets and paci!  That big blanket she's trying to pull out of her bed and snuggle, well, it's just too big for all that!  It's a queen size blanket, we're not allowing that thing to be dragged around the house.  Sorry Sterling.  Find a smaller one, then maybe.  Just maybe!

Nick even managed to put pictures on the shelf!  I wasn't too worried about all that, but it makes the place more homey!  Thanks babe!

Still have the sorter full, under the iron board, and the side of the washer left to wash.  Plus all the normal wear stuff.  I'm just glad to be all caught up now!

The pile on top of my dresser is now cleared off too!

This is how our room looked before all our crap was delivered.  Nice, clean, and orderly.  Ha!  Why must we have so much stuff?!?

I don't have any pictures of our basement area, but will get some taken soon.

I'm glad to be done with the majority of the things.  I still want to go through all the totes we had in our storage room in Germany, but for now, they are in our storage room here.  No hurry.  Just want to live life right now and worry about that later.  A lot of that stuff will be put in a pile for donation.

Have a great night!
