Five on Friday

Linking up with the lovely ladies this week for another Five on Friday.

{ONE} I love pumpkin and I stumbled upon this pumpkin muffin at Panera Bread earlier this week.  So yummy!
(here)

{TWO} Making time to go to the local pumpkin patch.  Kids loved that Mickey was there!

{THREE} Painting pumpkins.  It's been a family favorite since living in Germany.  The tradition continued this year.

{FOUR} Getting the bow holder I made organized.  The original ribbon I had on (that held the bows) was much shorter and we had an overflowing bucket with bows so I took off the old ribbon and added longer ribbon.  Much better! We have another bow holder full of bows too.  Bow overflow?

{FIVE} Making a place for all the kids artwork.  They love looking at their work and talking about it, so I finally took some twine and made this area the art display.

If you want to join the fun, post about any five things and link back to one of their blogs.  Simple, easy, and fun!

Disney Live 2014

Two weeks ago we traveled to Lincoln to watch Disney Live.  It was so much fun and the kids loved it!  Xander cried the entire 45 minutes home.  Not a fun ride trying to explain to a 3 year old that Jake had to take a break so he can make other kids happy too.  Not fun.

The show was Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Sofia the First.  Such a cute show.

Two days after this fun event, the kids and I headed to Sioux Falls for the big baby shower I threw for my brother and his wife.  Post will be later as there are a lot of pictures from the weekend...but not many of the actual day :(  Hoping some family will share their pictures with me since I was so busy making sure things were perfect.

Crazy Busy

It's been crazy busy around these parts.

I totally skipped Five on Friday last week.  It will most likely be skipped again this Friday since I'll be out of town and I doubt I'll be awake enough when I get back to the hotel to do it.  We'll see.  If not, I'll be back next week.

School.  Keeps me busy.  But I'm loving it.  Especially when I get to go into the 4 year old preschool classroom and observe a little girl and the rest of her class.  So much fun!  I'm half way done with this semester.  This week is Fall Break, but I still have one big project to work on that's due at the beginning of next week.  In one class (the one with the big project due next week), the professor is really strict.  It's hard to keep up with all her specifics she demands.  My motivation for this class went out the window...about a month ago.  Six weeks left!  I can do this, really, I can.  My three other classes are great and I enjoy the readings and assignments.  It's fun learning about kids and especially the ages my kiddos are at.  Helps me plan for them too.

Baby shower.  I'm throwing my brother and his wife a baby shower for their little man, Jaxon.  I've been planning this event for the past month and in between school, house chores, being a mom...my time is maxed!  The kids and I leave on Wednesday and the party is on Saturday.  I'm sure it's not going to go as I'm hoping or imagining, but we will all be together and snuggling my newest nephew!  So excited!  I made the most adorable table decoration, can't wait to show you all next week!

I must admit.  I've gone a little cray cray.  Not even joking.  Poor kids probable think I lost my marbles most days.  They say the sweetest things to try to make me smile.  The other day Xander asked me if I was okay.  I said no, I'm sad.  Sterling jumped up and said 'I know' and started wiggling and saying 'wiggle wiggle wiggle'.  Cutest thing ever and totally turned my frown upside down.
I tempted to take less classes next semester so I can have more free time to do things I like...like painting or sewing or reading.

I joined Golds Gym a few days ago.  Have I gone yet?  No.  Ugh!  I should have waited to sign up until after the baby shower.  When we get back on Monday, we're going when the next child watch hours are!  And I'm going every day until our vacation (except Sundays).

I've seen this image a little too often in my car.  I decided that it must be a slow leak or something because the cold temps wouldn't do this to one tire, and the same one tire, every 2 weeks.  So annoyed that my day tomorrow is ruined to get this taken care of.  I needed every minute of my tomorrow and now at least half of it is taken.  Yep, annoyed.  Let's hope I don't forget anything for the party and that my frazzled mind will stay focused.

Have a great week!

Five on Friday

It's here, ya'll!  I'm posting late today, but I was busy and productive today so I'm okay with it :)

Linking up with Darci from [the good life blog] and Karli from September Farm for Oh Hey, Friday

{ONE} Of course my all time favorite would be my two little loves!  I'm so blessed to be their mama!

{TWO} I'm so excited about Fall.  I love the cooler weather, changing leaves, the smell in the air, I just love the crispness of the season!  One thing I don't love is the change in temperature which results into active Raynauds.  Not fun, people!  Not fun!  But I still love Fall, no blood flow and all.

{THREE}  This man!  Just when I knew he'd back out of going to Donuts with Dads at Xander's preschool because work is busy and he couldn't get off (you all know the drill, right?)...well, he didn't!  He didn't even go into work until after the special moment with Xander.  Xander loved that Daddy went to school with him and was able to show him all around.  So special for them!

{FOUR} New hairstyles.  This girl has been patient with me trying out new and fun hairstyles on her. I don't get to choose the placement of the bow, but I'll live with it...at least she still wants to wear them :)
This picture was at the end of the day after school so it's loose.

{FIVE}  Changes.  We're moving things around in the house and making this home "our home" for the next 2 years (or more).  We're making letting the little's share a room so I can have the other room as my craft room.
Changes are good.  Well, usually.
